With a career paralleled by Linda’s, Debbie started out as a country-pop-folk-rock singer, then to 80’s pop-rock-top 40 bands, sang jazz and opera at school and church, and later, just like Linda, she sang all the standards (Great American Songbook) and performed in jazz ensembles around northeast Florida. It was not long until Debbie put together her own tribute band and within a short time, she has rocked the area selling out every show since.

Her “Get Closer! Band” mirrors Linda’s touring band: two guitarists, piano/keyboards, pedal steel, drums, bass, and backing vocalists. Debbie brings Linda Ronstadt’s extensive music catalog to life: a show packed with dynamic music, vintage outfits, and persona matching the era and essence of the Stone Poneys through Linda’s career spanning multi-decades. Debbie covers all Linda’s hits in every genre.

You will be transported back in time from the late sixties to 2009 when Linda Ronstadt stopped performing. Debbie brings back the nostalgia of four decades of music from the finest songwriters with a voice as strong and versatile as Linda Ronstadt herself.

 

 

 

“Debra (Debbie) Bailey Rider has been performing in the Jacksonville area for many years. A 2010 graduate of University of North Florida's prestigious jazz studies program, Debra's career has taken her from award-winning jingles singer, character voice actor, to backing vocalist for Lynyrd Skynyrd (1988-1993), merit-award winning songwriter for Unisong International for her song "Charlotte", and Savannah's International Vocal Competition quarterfinalist to Alhambra performances with tribute bands, shows at churches and non-profit organizations like Jacksonville Symphony chartered Body and Soul-The Art of Healing, as well as with various bands in the southeast. Now she has teamed up with some of the best area musicians to form a seven-piece band, Get Closer! A Tribute to Linda Ronstadt. ”
